Yeah, I heard the bad news last Saturday...he'd been fighting cancer for quite a while... he will be missed. Great guy, wonderful sense of humor. Squirrel squeezings, goats, tons of Bronco stories with him. Manly man ride to the Rubicon-sleeping on the ground in rest stops, sprinklers coming on at 6...

I think you're on the right track... my stock height spring back back in the day worked perfect for hauling the kids, 6 weeks worth of camping gear, a 12' alum boat (ON TOP), 18hp outboard, fishing gear, and a tent trailer for thousands of miles at a time... here's the disclaimer, I didn't do rocks ...

Not quite done with the install in this pic but it gives you an idea of the low height and placement of the York above the PSC p/s pump. Fits great and the pump (reservoir/recirc of fluid/cooling works better than before...no comparison. My p/s reservoir is mounted within a 1/2" of the radiator over...

York and PSC

Here's a couple pics of what I ended up with... Tony, this bracket is mounted on the drivers side of the engine. Imagine the belt coming down vertically from the York at the top, under the p/s pump pulley and then over to the water pump. That's how much belt wrap/contact my serp has with my p/s pump...

It's intriguing how different setups work SOO differently... for my PSC hi-output pump I couldn't draw fluid thru the enlarged -10AN inlet (even with a 1" fall from the reservoir and within 8" of the pump) fast enough at 5500rpm because it would create bubbles in the system....when I mounted it belo...

Stroke = torque ...course you already know this. The custom built 347 won't come close to a 351W with 1/2 the money spent on it in those rpm ranges... over 5,000 rpm is another story as the 347 will run circles around a semi-stock 351W... but that's not what you're asking. keep all the accessories o...
