Run to Autozone and get a pitman arm puller. You'll need to pay for it up front (deposit) but they will refund the entire purchase when you return it. (Free rental)

I would like to add a couple of people that also helped out with the trail runs. Thanks go out to Dan George (GoFastCrackPipe) and Rich (StarkyPDX). They both stepped up to the plate to run the second group on the trails this year. This worked out well as we ended up with about 9 rigs in each group ...

Jump over to the gallery and open the SOB 11 Gallery. The first page contains several pics of mine and then immediately following is one pic with 3 of them rig stacked. Mine has 38.5 tires and so does the blue one on the opposite side in that picture. The yellow one in the middle has 37" tires. All ...

I saw the green one but didn't stop. I already knew the asking price which was unreasonably high in my opinion ($11,500). For that kind of money it would have needed to be in showroom condition for me to even consider it which that one definately was not.

If your running the stock drivetrain then 38" tires will be hard on it. I've seen 38's under them with just 5 1/2" of suspension lift but it will require either a stiff suspension or bump stops to keep the tires from hitting the body. I personally run 5 1/2" of suspension with 3" of body lift which ...

I have to say this was the most interesting SOB I've had so far. Even with all of the running back and forth I still had a blast. My group managed to get by with only minor petty little issues for the most part with all 3 rigs being driven onto the trailers under their own power at the end of the we...

Interesting information. I'm lookin at going full width, 78/79 broncos seem more abundant. John 78/79 work however they are not the "best" option for the frontend because the wedges are cast into the housing. There are several options to get around that though. The 77 1/2 ton frontend has welded we...

It looks (feels) pretty good for me to be running a group if need be. I can either run the Archers or one similar to what I did last year. It's going to be up to you. If we have enough people show then breaking up into smaller groups of about 6 each takes some load off each leader and we can cover ...

So how long is the extreme trail and what type of obstacles are likely to be encountered? My wife isn't a big fan of the "fall to your death" type trails (i. e. Moab Rim), but can handle extreme as long as serious off camber and falls aren't involved. Can you see the trail on the little map? TIA, J...

so uh you guys gona accept a 78 and 79 as an "early bronco" on these runs and the sand lake stuff papapa pleaseeeee A 78/79 Bronco is no problem. For Jeeps, Toyotas etc. we "prefer" that they be sponsored as such by someone else that has a Bronco. I.E. If they have a friend with a Bronco going. If ...

There are a couple of alternate options as well. One would be to replace the fuse link with a Megafuse and the other would be to put a breaker in instead. The Megafuse would give you the option of trying a smaller fuse and then putting a bigger one in if the load is too much. This could be risky tho...

Ouch. Years ago I hit a deer at 60 and was in the hospital for week and it was several weeks before I was fully functional again so I feel your pain. Rest up and take care of yourself. You will still be out there on the trails in spirit if nothing else.

I want to go on the difficult run. I made the mistake of restoring my truck and making it built for off-roading, but making it too pretty at the same time. I've got lockers and all that crap. Wondering how tight the trail is. Is it overgrown much?i I like rocks, just not a whole lot of tree branche...

It's a decent choice but there are a few things to consider. The truck intake on it is very tall and even with a 3" body lift it's going to be higher than the hood. To fit you need to either cut the hood and build a custom scoop or switch to a car style intake instead and still use the body lift. (I...

They didn't call them 5.8 in 1978 however they did have a 351M motor that was available which is 5.8 liters. These motors actually will bolt into the motor mounts in an EB however they had the 460 bellhousing pattern so they don't bolt up to the tranny. They are also quite a bit larger than the 351W...
