thanks for all the tips, and the info in the brake thread i made too stan. it has helped a bunch
i think the tie rod will be ok being a little lower, it wont make a difference.

ill have to snag those shims from you sometime later when we are close to putting parts on

hmmmmmm ill think about it. i was going to use 15x10 wheels, and stick out alot (is that alot of offset or not alot of offset?) what i mean is the bolt flange on the wheel is really far in towards the inner bead on the wheel. if i put the wheels on the disc dana 44 (which isnt on the bronco) can i t...

i got a whole dana 44 from a ford truck a while back, with disc brakes on it, everything was new about 5 years ago, just been sitting. anyways going to swap those on to the 73 dana 44 drum equipped axle. are these the basic steps i need to do the swap? ok looking at doing this this sunday, if it is a go i will post up a list of what we will be working on, and if there are any tools i may need to borrow. id like to do the disc brake swap, so i know i need a ball joint puller tool.

the alternator just went on the cherokee.... so i need to fix that, good thing my receipt for my lifetime warranty is in damascus haha.

im sure you have checked but what about anything rubbing, like pulleys for the alt, crank, PS etc. waterpump maybe? timing chain?

yup i have used stock mustang ones, 90s GT mustangs will have what you want, you have to modify the pass side so that it goes straight back, not angled down, it wasnt too easy, but not too hard either.

i had a problem like this. it may or may not be your problem but here goes i had taken out my hubs, to take out the axle shafts to re gear the front. so i put it all in and regreased the hubs etc. it wouldnt go int 4 wheel. driveshaft was spinning etc. but it wouldnt lock in, i thought it was a diff...

as far as i know none will be the same, everything is wider, or has the differential on the other side.
you need a bronco dana 44, unless you want to narrow a truck dana 44...

i sandblasted mine and then taped off the pulley surface before paint, i figured the paint wouldnt provide good grip and it would burn off anyways.

dealer options are way different then factory options, the dealer could put just about anything you wanted on when you bought it.

i bet you test light just dirupted a wire that was barely hanging on for the last 20 years or so. check all your connections voltage regulator could have died too.

i ran a costco battery for 8 years, but i had a main power cut off switch too, so when it is sitting over winter the battery cant be drawn down. and when that one died after 8 years, i bought another one.
