I have the new detroit with 4.88's in the rear of my 77 with 37" tires and it drives great. The only time I notice it is if I get on it heavy in a turn then the tire will chirp. No issues driving down the highway.
1977 ranger, 302, c-4, power brakes w/ front disks, 3'' body lift, 5.5" Wild Horses suspension, 37" BFG km2's on Walker Evans beadlocks, 4.88's detroits with 35 spline rears, more to come

To spool or not

I'm at the cross road. Pulled my 3rd member with a stock LS,and bought a 9+, 4.30 gears and 33 spline spool. But now having second thoughts, spend 980.00 for arb or buy a 31 spline spool. 33 spline axles are kinda expensive

I have an ARB in a 31 spline axle. I've come down on it hard and have a twist in one, but its been there like that for about 8 years. 31's are near indestructible.
