Body Sealing

Post by Rumble Frog » Fri Mar 15, 2002 6:11 pm

The paint on my '74 is in reasonably good shape, but recently the sealer between the driver's side rear quarter panel upper and lower sections fell out. There are cracks in the sealant at most of the body joints. Apart from the expense of a new paint job, how do I seal these joints and/or keep rust from forming in them? I live in rainy Western Oregon; the rig is garaged at night but exposed the rest of the time.

You can buy seam sealer at any auto parts store. You'll also need a caulk gun, if you don't have one.
