If anyone works for a GM dealer or at a parts shop, can ya email me offline?

I've been trying to determine what year and model Astro / Safari van to pull
the steering gearbox out of for the quick ratio conversion, and I just keep
running into walls. I've pulled several and all have been variable ratio
boxes - which won't work for the swap. If any of you have access to the
information I need, please email me offline...I'm looking for the year and
model that has the 3.25:1 non-variable ratio boxes in 'em.

I promise I'll write it up after I get it done!

Thanks guys!
Marcus

I talked to Matt @ West Texas recently and he said that's not true. I know
that there was some information floating around a while back about thick
gears in the AWD van and thin gears in the 2WD version, but I haven't really
found that to be true so far. Matt said that he'd never heard of thick and
thin Saginaw gears - only small bore and large.

The original information always said mid 80's Cheby van, and they didn't
even make the AWD version until the early 90's.

I'll keep up my search and let y'all know what I come up with. I thought I
had it solved already, but my mind wasn't working too well that day...ha!

Thanks,
Marcus
