I have read several different articles about junk yard disc conversions all seem to use 70's model chevy parts...being a ford patriot i would rather not go that route any help with this would be great oh by the way it is on a 68 and is important to me to keep the 30 in the front (I don't off road in my baby, plans of building one for that) and would rather keep manual than go with power or hydroboost.

The ford conversion won't work with a D30. Something about the ball joints not mating up to the kingpins.

That ford patriot stuff is silly. You're not talking about dropping in a corvette engine, just some axle parts nobody will ever see. Disk brake conversions are the best modification you can make. Just put the chevy parts on and don't worry about it. Nobody will notice.

And Ford, Chevy, Jeep all used Dana axles so that sort of throws out that Ford only patriot thing. You should be thinking American only.

If I found some Mercedes 6 piston calipers at u-pick-a-part, I'd try to figure out a way to get them on my dana 44 axle.
